—————–

A distinctive moustached face, a black shako-style hat and a brick-red coat with white ornamental braiding give this vintage Hungarian Miska jug its charming character.

The glazed ceramic surface features painted facial details, white looped motifs and black wavy lines. It would make an appealing addition to a wooden dresser, a country kitchen or a collection of figurative pottery.

The jug has no breaks or cracks, but shows noticeable wear. There is a larger area of glaze loss on the upper handle, smaller glaze chips around the hat rim, and surface scuffs and scratches on the body. Please examine the detail photographs.

An impressed marking and dark handwritten marks are visible underneath. The maker and exact production date have not been identified. Recommended for decorative display.
